Carrie Graff Beatty, 94, completed her mission on this earth on August 24,2006. She was born August 6,1912 in Santa Clara, Utah to Joseph and Eliza Graff. At age 25 she came to work in Las Vegas and married Arlo Beatty in 1937. They raised their four boys and one daughter in the same home in North Las Vegas. Carrie was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many positions of responsibility in the Primary Relief Society and Young Women's organizations. Many of her dearest friendships were formed and nurtured through services experiences. Some of her fondest memories were of fund-raising efforts to build chapels, send missionaries and generally assist the church wit hard work. Many children called her mother that were not of her own. She provided a hot meal and warm bed to friends of her kids just because there was a need to do so. Rarely would a visitor leave her home without sharing a meal or taking with them an Avon treasurer, more importantly, a memory of sharing time with a devoted woman of Christ. Charity was second-nature to her.
Everyone around her knew of her great faith and love for her Savior. Her greatest joys were found in her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Herbert William (Bill) and Melvin Graff and wife, Kaye; daughter, Marsha and husband, Bob; and daughter-in-law, Linda.
She was preceded in death by husband Arlo and sons, Ralph Arlo, and Jerald Douglas. Carrie was blessed to love 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Special thanks to Carol of Owens group Home, her family and staff for their sensitive care during this final chapter.
