Charles Borger Ellis, 63, passed away August 9, 2020 in Las Vegas, NV. Charles was born to Marie Antoinette and Fay Montgomery Ellis on September 17, 1956 in Albuquerque, NM. Charles, known to all as "Chuck/Chuckie" was the youngest of six siblings and whether or not he was considered to be "cared for", "spoiled", or "picked-on" throughout his childhood depends on which sibling tells the story. Chuck graduated from Highland High School, Albuquerque, N.M., in 1974 and went on to earn his undergraduate degree at Eastern New Mexico University in 1978. Following graduation, Chuck joined American Airlines where he spent the next 30 years serving customers from the many gates on the concourses of DFW Airport. After retirement from American Chuck moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he spent the last several years with life-long friends. Chuck was a loyal, hard-working man with a contagious smile and a huge heart. Once you met him, it did not take long to learn that his love for his mom, life-long friends, family, and sports held him together. Chuck never married or had children of his own which meant his nephews and nieces were spoiled. Each hold dear special memories of attending sporting events, sharing laughs and fun adventures with their Uncle Chuck as children and adults. Chuck lived his life fast and furious, but he always made whoever he was with, at the time, feel loved and important. Chuck battled alcoholism; however, while the addiction had taken its toll on his body, his heart never lost its desire to be free. "If I speak in the tongues of man and angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and knowledge, and if I have faith to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing... So now faith, hope and love abide, these three, but the greatest of these is love." (I Cor. 13:1-2; 13). Chuck loved. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: James F. Ellis and Phillip M. Ellis. He is survived by one brother, Ted Ellis (Barbara) of Hoschton, Georgia, and two sisters and sister-in-law: Cathy Irvin (Bill) of Erie, Colorado and Janet Elliot of San Antonio, TX, Carol Ellis, of Albuquerque, NM, life-long friends, along with eight nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and nephews. The family has chosen cremation and private life-celebration will follow.
