Charles William Rogers

March 3, 1938 — January 6, 2024

Charles was born March 3, 1938 on a ranch north of Mancos, Colorado. In high school he played all sports, but really excelled and enjoyed football. After high school he went to Adams State College, earning a degree in mathematics. Charles married his high school sweetheart, Sandy, in 1961. They moved to Las Vegas in 1962, where he began a career teaching math.

He learned to fish and hunt from his mom, Babe and continued to do so throughout his life. He was an outstanding fly fisherman and loved to fish and hunt with his two sons, Marc and Jeff.

Later he wrote: “I was able to teach and enjoy my two sons in fishing, hunting, baseball and basketball. It seemed we were always going someplace, what great times we had.”

He welcomed his two daughters- in laws into the family with open arms. He encouraged Wendy to pursue a career in education, and even paid for her first semester of college. He assisted Sabina in her journey to become a US citizen which made them both very proud of their efforts.

He later took great joy in spending time with his 3 grandchildren, Jake, Ryan and Charley. He hunted and fished with them and coached them in sports as well. He was a great story teller, and every once in a while you might hear the same story again! He dearly loved Sandy, and even allowed her to cook him 3 meals a day and pick up after him. He was very proud of his family and we will all miss him tremendously.
