In memory of Constance H. “Connie” Pagano
January 12, 1940 – March 5, 2021
Beloved wife and mother, grandmother of three; she loved her family deeply.
Known as Connie to all of her friends, she was always there, ready to help others when needed. She showed everyone that you always lead with compassion, a kind word, and a helping hand. Her bubbly personality and friendly nature made her easy to talk to and get to know. Her laugh was infectious and could be picked out of a crowd . She was always the first to greet strangers and make them newfound friends in very short order. Connie’s circle of friends ranged both nationally and internationally.
She is survived by her sister Barbara, Michael (Mike) her husband of 53 years, her daughter, Melanie (Mel), son-in-law Edward and her three grandchildren, Amanda, John, and Michael.
When Mel was in middle school, the two of them would cuddle up in bed and watch ABC’s Movie of the Week. There was always chocolate covered raisins and a box of Kleenex nearby…just in case. Were the movies good enough to remember? No. But the time with her will never be forgotten.
Connie loved gardening while living in Washington State. She took pride in her garden containing twelve raised beds where she raised fruits, berries, and herbs. Our backyard in Las Vegas was too steep for her to garden, so she traded that pastime for a weekly “girls’ night out” at the local casinos with her close friend Sue. Dinner was on the menu as well as trying her luck out at the slot machines where unfortunately, she would tell us that she never won. Wink, wink… Now we are certain that she and Sue are laughing and winning.
We are sure of one other thing – she will not miss Mike’s driving. Technology came in handy later in life, the use of a tablet to play word search to distract her, so she wouldn’t have to watch the road, while Mike would drive like a typical New Yorker.
