Darrell Mark Warren passed quietly at home with his family on January 29th, 2021, after a difficult battle with illnesses related to his service as an Army Combat Medic in the Vietnam War.
Darrell was one of the last few children born in Tombstone, Arizona, on November 23, 1948. He graduated from Flowing Wells High School in Tucson, AZ. He enlisted in the Army and honorably served his country for three years. Following his military service, he completed multiple college degrees throughout his life. Darrell worked as recruiter for the Army, an x-ray technician, a health physicist for the Department of Energy, and a high school physics teacher. Darrell met his love, Cerise, at Mesa College and remained faithfully married to her for 46 years. He was the proud father of six children and eight grandchildren. Darrell loved his family, education, grilling, Diet Coke, reading, football, good beef jerky, aircraft gliding, and ice cream. He eagerly took on the role of a surrogate grandpa to all the babies and toddlers in his church. He was regularly seen playing pic-a-boo or rocking a little one to sleep, sometimes skipping Sunday School to fulfill that surrogacy. Darrell rarely met a stranger and his children often, but lovingly, referred to him as "Chatty Cathy."
He is survived by his eternal companion, Cerise Warren, daughters; Shanna Warren, Carrie Kelley (Tylor), Amanda Warren, and Monica Nielsen (James), and sons Courtney Warren (Ashley), and Brice Warren. His grandchildren include Matthew and Mark Soares, Zachary and Gunnar Warren, Gabriel, Norah, Audrey, and Caitlin Nielsen.
