David Richard "Dick" Gordon was born in Parsons, Kansas and resided in Las Vegas for 41 years. Dick served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was aboard the U.S.S Phillippine Sea during World War II. After that time, Dick moved to La Vegas to take up a job at the Cal-Nev Pipeline of which he became the maintenance supervisor and was employed for nearly 18 years. Dick was somewhat of a handyman. He had a great deal of knowledge about a lot of things. There wasn't very much he didn't know how to fix. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Dick was preceded in death by his mother, Alta Gordon;and father, John Gordon. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ruth Gordon;sons, David R. Gordon Jr. and John Mark Gordon;grandson, David John Gordon, all of Las Vegas; and sister, Marie Schelb of Grove, Oklahoma.
