David James Whisler, “Bear”, passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 66. He was a caring soul who looked out for loved ones and neighbors, alike. He will be greatly missed.
David was born on October 24, 1957, in Las Vegas, Nevada to Joanne and Paul Whisler. He was one of three children. A rare Las Vegas native, David graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1975. Quail hunting with his father in his teens and through adulthood was one of the highlights of his life.
David was an extremely hard worker who believed that any job worth doing was worth doing right – no matter how much longer that extended the project. He spent over 45 years in UA Local 669 Road Sprinkler Fitters, reaching the title of Journeyman before retiring in 2020.
David is survived by his stepdaughters, Dawn (Daryl) and Brenda (David); his granddaughters, Amelia and Olivia; as well as uncles, cousins, and nephews. David is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Joanne; his siblings, Edgar and Paula; and the love of his life, Mary Ann.
David’s passing leaves an unfillable void in the lives of so many who knew and loved him.
