Dorothy Russell

August 15, 1928 — December 16, 2019

Dorothy Moore Russell was born on August 15, 1928 to the late Len and Clara Seamster in Minden, Louisiana. At a young age, she confessed and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church; and later, as an adult, Dorothy rededicated her life to Jesus at Barnes Temple Church of God in West Monroe, Louisiana.
Before relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, Dorothy was joined in holy matrimony to Grayson Moore and from this union four children were born. Dorothy was employed at The Las Vegas Club as a Powder Room Attendant for 27 years until she retired.
Dorothy's children can attest to the fact that she had "the patience of Job" always supportive, and encouraging. She was a sweet, loving and nurturing woman. She was proud of her children. Her favorite color was green and she loved gardening; she loved to grow flowers, fruits and vegetables. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and wearing colorful hats. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family and others.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Grayson and daughter, Carol Flowers. She is survived by daughters Dorothy Jackson, Patricia Scott, and Diane Manning (Ron); son, Durwood James (Carla); 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
