Edith A Baker

Edith Baker, 86, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada, surrounded by her loving children. Born on October 30, 1937, in Sanchez Mira, Philippines, Edith lived a life rich in love, family, and dedication. While working as a seamstress in the Philippines, Edith met Wilbur Eugene Baker, a US Navy sailor. Their love blossomed, and they married. The military family was transferred from the Philippines to Okinawa, Japan, then to Long Beach, California, and eventually settled in Oxnard, California. Together, they raised five wonderful children: Richard, Kenneth, Kathy, Robert, and Gloria. Edith was a devoted wife and mother, and her family was the center of her world.

Edith had a remarkable talent for bringing people together through her cooking. Her kitchen was always filled with the delicious aromas of meals prepared with love and care. She took great joy in ensuring that everyone had enough to eat, and her home was a warm and welcoming place for family and friends. After the passing of her beloved husband, Wilbur, Edith moved to Las Vegas, where she found joy in the city's vibrant atmosphere. She enjoyed her life there, filled with new experiences and cherished memories. Edith's legacy is one of love, resilience, and the importance of family. She was loved and cherished by all who knew her. Her kind spirit, warm heart, and unwavering dedication to her family will be deeply missed.

Edith is survived by her children: Richard Baker, Kenneth Baker and his wife Michelle Grippi Baker, Kathy Baker, Robert Baker, and Gloria Baker Torres and her husband Tony Torres. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Evan Baker, Krista Diller and her husband David Diller, and Chloe Baker Torres, and her great-grandchildren: Katarina Diller, Alexandria Diller, Benjamin Diller, and Jacqueline Diller. She leaves behind a lifetime of love and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. A funeral service will be held to celebrate Edith's life at 10 am on July 6, 2024, at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, Memorial Park & Crematory, 2052 Howard Rd, Camarillo, CA, 93012.
