Edward Joseph Schlesinger, 78, of Las Vegas, passed from this world into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus, Sunday, December 17,2006.
Ed was born in Louisville, KY. June 27,1928.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Paul George and Christina Schlesinger; his brothers, Paul Joseph (Bud), Kenneth, Gilbert and Joseph Donald, all from Louisville, KY.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force in 1949. he retired a master sergeant in 1969. His final tour of duty was at Area 51 where he was a navigation aide for Project Oxcart. His years at Area 51 were the "glory years" of his life. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for Dillards as a maintenance engineer.
Ed is survived by his wife, Pat; four children, Stephen Douglas of Las Vegas and his wife Jan of Lake view, Ore., Ramona Sue of San Antonio and Christopher Thomas and his wife, Sharon of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, Christian, Jennifer D.Hooper,(Grand Dee),Jeff Kemp, Kasey C., Cheryl Lynn, Nicole, and Christina; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Taylor Hooper; and brothers and sisters, Dorothy May of Louisville, Gerald Anthony of Chino, CA., Norbert Thomas of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mary Ann of Louisville, Carol Joan of Woodbine,GA., and Jean Marie of Louisville.
Ed was a member of the Roadrunners International (Area 51) and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, December 21st, 2006 with a Rosary to be said beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, December 22nd at 10:00 a.m. by Father Krier.
