Evelyn Dawson Hartwell

June 26, 1931 — November 24, 2020

Evelyn Dawson Hartwell made her grand entrance on June 26, 1931 in Rockaway Beach, New York. She was the only daughter of Anna Mae Harold and Larry Garrett.
Evelyn completed her education in the N.Y.C. public schools system and was employed by the NYC Health and Hospital Corporation at Elmhurst Hospital Center until the family relocated to Las Vegas, NV in 1969. Because of Evelyn's excellent work ethics, she was able to gain immediate employment at University Medical Center. She worked in Human Resources as a Personnel Specialist until her retirement in 1994.
Evelyn loved decorating, cooking, word puzzles, watching television (Korean Soap Operas and The Golden Girls in particular) and celebrating her birthdays. Most of all, Evelyn loved her family. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother (GIGI).
She is preceded in death by William King Lightfoot, Walter E McGowan, Jesse Hartwell and her son, Alvin.
Evelyn's legacy continues with four remaining children: Diane, Cynthia, Billy, and Judy and two daughter-in-laws: Sherrie and Amy; Nine grandchildren: Kim (Tracy), Rob (Monica), William, Lauren, Nicholas (Rebecca), Jordan, Kayla, James and Tina; and seven great-granddaughters: Ahania, Shalom, Zoe, Gabrielle, Ellie, Melody, and Natalia.
Mom, Grandma, GIGI you will be greatly missed and held lovingly in our hearts.
