Reverend Glenn L. Tudor began his life on Earth in 1908 on a farm in Morgan County, Indiana. His life came to a close in Las Vegas on June 6, 2003, less than a month before he would have celebrated his 95th birthday on July 1st.
During his long, productive life, Glenn served eight churches as a Disciples of Christ pastor. He pastured six churches in Indiana before he and his wife, Dott, came to last Vegas in 1956 to lead First Christian Church through a nearly 18-year-period of growth and expansion.
While ministering primarily to his church, he both led and participated significantly in ecumenical and social efforts in Las Vegas and in Nevada. Of particular note: Lions Club, YMCA, Council of Christians and Jews, and Boulder Dam Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
During World War II, Glenn held the position of Field Director in England for the American red Cross. A written review of his job performance during those years includes words that succinctly and accurately describe Glenn Tudor. “He has a splendid combination of excellent qualities: he is always well-groomed; he has self confidence with conceit; he is always prompt and thorough; and, he has an abundant sense of humor with a fine stock of jokes which never need censoring. He is friendly, cheerful, dignified and frank. He wins friendship easily and is at ease in any group. He is loyal to high ideals of human service, and is appreciative of any help anyone gives him.”
Glenn is survived by his son Glendon of Claremont, CA, and his daughter Judith Ford, Of Las Vegas, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 16 great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Dott, Son Glenn, Grandson James and Gladys.
