Howard West was a resident of Las Vegas since 1954. He was born on a farm southeast of Lincoln, Kansas.
He attended rural schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941. After high school, Howard enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He married in 1942 and through that union, they had four children.
Howard had a lifelong career in the lumber industry and retired in 1996 at the age of 72.
He was a member of the Masons and the Shriners.
Howard is survived by his daughter, Valerie Jody(Butch) Fitzgerald of Boulder City; sons, Perry Keith(Donna) West of Lincoln, Kansas; Lonnie Dee (Paula)West, and David Randall(Donna) West, both of Las Vegas; mother, Olive Powell West Carter of Lincoln, Kansas; sister, Madonna Anderson of Burlington, CO; and 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, March 23rd at Bunkers Mortuary
925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Graveside services will be at 8:00 a.m. Friday, March 24th at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
