James E Johnson

Deacon James Edward Johnson was born January 29, 1944 in Bunn, Arkansas to Willie Melton (Pete) and Erchie Mae Johnson. He attended Carthage Eastside High School where he graduated in May of 1962.

After Graduating high school, Deacon Johnson moved to Las Vegas, NV where he met the love of his life. Deacon Johnson and Mother Renell Johnson were married on May 19, 1968. To this union one daughter Kaylon was Born in 1969. Even though Mother Johnson already had a daughter (Cheryl), he treater her as his own by adopting her. This was the kind of man he was.

Deacon Johnson gave his life to God many years ago. He was a faithful member of the Ebenezer C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Elder Robert Tolefree until his passing. After the passing of Pastor Elder Robet Tolefree, Bishop William McDonnel took over the leadership of Ebenezer C.O.G.I.C. it later became The Wealthy Place Ministries. Deacon Johnson was a faithful member to the church until his health started to decline.

Deacon Johnson worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years at Caesars Palace Hotel as a bellman before retiring in1999.

Deacon James Johnson was a very funny and caring person. He loved his family and always put them first. Everyone loved deacon Johnson because he was friendly and kind to all whom came in contact with him. He was one of the most funny genuine people you would be lucky to meet.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Willie Melton and Erchie Mae Johnson, Grandparents Willie Johnson and Katie Westbrook Johnson, Henry Sloane, Mary Jo Smith and Brother Eddie Johnson.

He leaves to cherish his memories:
