James Robert Walker, Jr.

January 11, 1938 — April 27, 2005

James Robert Walker, Jr. was born in Lawrence, Kansas to James Robert Sr. and Archie Mae Walker who preceded him in death.  After fighting cancer for six and a half years, James departed this life at the age of 67.  James was Baptized and received the Lord at an early age in Lawrence, KS.  In the late 1970's he joined the Church of the Lord Jesus, where he remained a faithful member and adult Sunday school teacher until his death.  Upon graduating from Lawrence High School in his home town in 1956, James entered military service and retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving his country for 22 years.  After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he began working for the Clark County Election Department in Las Vegas for 20 years.

James leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 42 years, Brenda;two loving daughters and sons-in law, Gretchen, Stephanie, Michael and Ramon; and one grandson, Sterling, all of Las Vegas.  Other surviving family members include two sisters, Donna Scott of Topeka, Kansas and Patricia Walker of Lakewood, CO.;a brother and sister in law, David and Gwen Walker of Oklahoma City and a sister-in-law, Vonzile Nichols of Inglewood, CA.  Other family members include two nieces and three nephews.

He will be greatly missed by two long time special friends, Terryl Speaker of Las Vegas and Isaac Fisher of Goodyear, AZ. along with a host of family and friends.

A military graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 13,2005 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Overseer Olivia Victorian officiating.

The family was served by Bunkers Mortuary.
