My Father was many things, both good and bad. To some, he was a great man, and to others he wasn’t. There's no right or wrong answer to who my father was, because in the absence of the man himself, all we are left with is a collection of perceptions. Like a puzzle, each one of your experiences and opinions offer a small piece that makes up my father’s persona. My siblings can attest that my father wasn't big on ceremony so with respect to his wishes, instead of a big ceremony we opted for this small gathering, honoring his life as a way to help the survivors to cope with the anguish brought about by his untimely passing.
“Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore, trust the physician and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility.” ― Khalil Gibran
