On Thursday, February 21, 2019, Jeffery, husband, son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend passed away suddenly at the age of 56.
Jeffery Wooten was born on June 15, 1962 in Compton, California to Avis and William Wooten, who proceeded him in death. He was the youngest of five siblings.
Jeffery grew up in Compton, California. Jeffery joined the U.S. Navy in September of 1982. He served his country honorably until July of 1986.
Jeffery met the love of his life, Danielle, in 1992, while working at the Martin Luther King Jr Community Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. They were married on September 17, 1994. In their 26 years together, they shared their love and home with children, Michael and Ebony. Jeffery and Danielle moved to Las Vegas in 1998 and later welcomed their children Taylor and Makaio.
Jeffery’s love of the Lord led him to become an Ordained Chaplain. He served his community in that capacity by volunteering to serve those incarcerated at the Clark County Detention Center.
As a man of faith and conviction, he was often heard asking those who came in contact with him, are you ready? And no matter what the response was, Jeffery would share the word of the Lord.
Jeffery worked as Parking Lot Attendant at King / Drew Medical Center for over seven years. He worked for Rawson Neal Hospital as a Mental Health Technician for over 18 years.
Jeffery was an avid football lover. Over the span of 30 years, Jeffery coached youth football and touched 1000’s of young lives. He was a passionate L. A. Lakers fan.
Jeffery leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Danielle; their devoted children, Michael, Ebony, Talia, (Elijah), Taylor (Lauren) and Makaio; his mother, Avis; brothers, Tim (Marsha) and Fred (Kathryn); sisters, Janice and Hope, who both proceeded him; grandchildren, Elijah, Mustafah, Jeremiah, Stewart, Savion, Sincere and Julian. Jeffery will also be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends.
