Jessica Ann Vasconcellos Moore, beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter, and treasured sister, passed away on December 3, 2024, at the age of 46 after a brief return illness. Jessica was born on April 28, 1978, in Honolulu, Hawaii and moved with her family to Las Vegas the following year. She attended eight years at Saint Francis de Sales Elementary School, graduated Bishop Gorman High School in 1996 and later received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Beginning in 2018, Jessica bravely battled and beat breast cancer, demonstrating her incredible resilience and unwavering spirit. She was a shining light to all who knew her, embodying grace, kindness, and strength throughout her life.
On May 3, 2003, Jessica married the love of her life, James Moore, and together they had three sons; Gavin, JJ and Luke. She left her promising banking career and choose to be a full-time mom and homemaker, dedicating her life to creating a warm and loving home for her family. As a young girl she practiced ballet, tap and jazz and participated in many recitals and competitions. A middle child, she liked to bring people together and was generous with her time. She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling as a group with friends and being a mom.
While her children were at Our Lady of Las Vegas, she volunteered as a member of the Harvest Festival Committee, participated in the yearly Walk-a-Thons and was a room mom. By example, she instilled values of compassion, determination, and hard work for her boys. Her infectious laughter drew people towards her. As a cancer patient and survivor, she felt called to help others. She reached out to fellow moms, grandmas and friends of friends affected by the brutal disease. She offered practical advice, remedies to help relieve symptoms and hope as a survivor.
In addition to her husband and boys, Jessica is survived by her mother Priscilla, sister Jenné and her husband, Monty; her brother Joel and his wife, Shannon; nephews, Jonas and Julius Snell, and her nieces, Maggie, and Josie Vasconcellos. She is also survived by her extended family and countless friends who were touched by her warm and generous spirit. Jessica is preceded in death by her father, Jacob Vasconcellos, and her older brother, Jacob Vasconcellos II.
Jessica’s life was a testament to the power of love and connection. Her boundless devotion to her family and friends will forever be remembered and cherished. She brought light and laughter into every room she entered and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of Jessica's life will be held to honor her memory. The funeral service will take place on January 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, located at 6350 North Fort Apache Road, Las Vegas, NV 89149. A reception will follow at Four Kegs Sports Pub, located at 276 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107. The family welcomes all who wish to join in celebrating Jessica’s remarkable life and legacy.
