Joan Rita Cantara

Joan Rita Cantara, born August 23, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio, died July 24, 2003, and laid to rest in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a resident of Las Vegas for 41 years. She was retired, but was previously employed by the Showboat Hotel for 22 years. Joan is survived by eight children, Joan Failing, Phyllis Bachant, Mary 'Wez' Cantara, Jane Harrington, Jean Bowers, Charleton Oliver Cantara, Jr. Charlotte Adams and Barbara Spencer. Also survived by fifteen grandchildren, Bob and Ken Failing, Rob Bachant, Heather Nanson, Dennis Cantara, Ryan and Dana Harrington, Bob and Brian Bowers, John and Shane Adams, Amanda Casey, Ariauna Cantara, Kristine and Korey Spenser; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Funeral Mass will be held at noon, Saturday, July 26, at Christ The King Catholic Community, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive (Corner of Tropicana & Torrey Pines). Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.
