Joann Larkin Hodson.beloved wife and mother, age 70, returned to her Heavenly Father on November 1,2006 following an extended illness.
She was born on September 26,1936 in Ogden, Utah. The daughter of Ivan Larkin and Thora Evans, she was the second of six daughters.
Joann moved to Las Vegas in 1944 and resided in Clark County for 62 years. She graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1955 and attended BYU for one year before marrying Raymond Hodson on June 13,1956 in the St. George, Utah Temple.
Joann was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served many years in the Young Women's and Relief Society organizations. With her husband, she served a church mission in Hawaii in 1994. Joann loved doing genealogy and served in the Las Vegas Temple. She was also a Cub Scout Den Leader.
Joann is survived by her husband of 50 years, Raymond Hodson; and children, Alex ( J.J./) Derrick (Jan), Becky (Brian) Olsen, all of Las Vegas, RaeAnn ( Gregory) Peterson and Ruthellen (DaRell) Cook, both of North Las Vegas.
Her posterity also includes 23 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Other family members include her sisters, Jeanine (Rocky) Rogue, Pat Hamilton both of North Las Vegas, Susan (Gary) Mills of Phoenix, Linda ( William) Bly of Shelbyville, Ill., and Debbie Garland of Pahrump.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, November 5th at Bunkers Mortuary
