Katie Mae Moore was born to Oscer and Lucinda Rush in Gadsden, Alabama and baptized in infancy. katie graduated from Howard High School in Chattanooga, Tenn. Sme married Saul R. Moore and moved to Detroit. She loved music and continued her education at the Detroit Conservatory of Music. She also raised two sons, Jeurvis L. Moore and Saul W. Moore. During the 1960's she was the owner of the Kliensmith Company where she designed and manufactured men's and women's clothes. During this period she maintained her dedication to God and was a member of the Scott Methodist Church Choir. In 1980, Katie moved to Las Vegas and became a member of Zion Methodish Church and the Chancior Choir. She was very active in senior citizen organizations. She was president of Sartini Plaza Senior Housing Complex, member of the Advisory Committee of Las Vegas Seniors, Nevada Division for Aging Serice, Nevada Advisory Legislature Committee, and the Nevada Information and Referral Service. She leaves behind her loving son, Saul W. Moore, daughter in law Kumiko Moore; grandchildren, William K. Moore, Rumiko Edwards, Linda Moore, Kumiko Katie Primm, Jeurvis, Karen, Renee, Brian, Andrea and Wesley; great-grandchildren, Dominique and Jenna Boza Edwards, Eric Moore, Eris Primm, Cameron Moore, Bella Moore and Jaielah Johnson; nieces, nephews and friends.
