Kathleen, Joyce Larsen widow of Ariel "Jay" Larsen,died peace fully from a heart ailment and cancer.Joyce was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Ellen Hubler and Hans Frederick Jensen.
She served as an LDS missionary in Denmark ins 1955-57. Upon her return, she worked in Salt Lake City as a secretary. She married Ariel James Larsen, July, 25,1958 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. Following their marriage, they lived in Logan, Utah, and she continued her work as a secretary while her husband attended USU.
With his first teaching contract, they moved to Vernal, Utah in 1962 and then to Las Vegas in 1969.
Joyce supplemented her family income for over 20 years by giving piano lessons. She used her varied talents to make a pleasant home for her family.
She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and serced most of her life as a Music chairman, ward organist and choir director. She also served in
the Reliief Society presidency and as the Cultrual Refinement teacher.
She is survived by her daughters, Annette, Sharon and Kristi; and her grandson, Andrew, all of Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and two borthers.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, December 21st from 7-9 p.m. at Bunkers Mortuary and on thursday, december 22 from 9 -10 a.m. at the LDS chapel at 9580 Peace Way, prior to the funeral services which will follow at 10:30 a.m.
