Lillian G Jones

July 26, 1921 — March 31, 2006

Lillian G. Jones," was bron July 26,1921 to Italian immigrant parents, Giovanni Vencenzo "Mike" Quilici and Annunziata "Nancy" Martinelli in Winnemucca, where she spent her childhood and young adult life.  After graduating she worked in the local grocery store and later as a court stenographer.

On October 19,2945, she married the love of her life, Donald B. Jones.  Lillian became a fulltime homemaker and mother to her two daughters.  The family moved to Las Vegas in 1945. Lillian was a 50 year member of Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church where she volunteered as religious education teacher for 20 years.  She was the inspiration behind her daughters' singing.  She enjoyed sitting in on weekly practice and accompanying them to the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass shwere they served as music ministers.  She loved to garden with 31 rose bushes adorning her yard.  If you wanted a rose, you knew where to come.  Neighbors, even strangers would knock on her door to ask for a rose or two.  She would gladly oblige.  They never left with one rose, but a beautiful bouquet.

Sge was Nonie(Grandma) to all, espeically the neighborhood children.  they loved to visit, do art projects or bake with her, they never left without one of Nonie's famous cookies.

Welcoming her to heaven is her beloved husband Don, who preceded her in 1975.  We are comforted in knowing they are at last reunited.

Lillian is survived by her brothers, Joe and Jerry Quillici; sisters-in-law, Sally and Pat of Winnemucca; daughters, Vicki Platt and Jeri Ann Ballew; sons-in-law, David Platt and Dennis Ballew; her daughter of the heart, Joanna Salmon; grandchildren, David and Susan Platt, Angela Platt and Shaun Ballew; great=grandchildren, Cooper and Delaney Platt all of Las Vegas.  Many cousins, nieces, nephews, who she loved dearly, also survive her.

Her greatest joy was time spent with family and friends. Someone once asked when God calls you home, what would they say once you were gone; We know they have seen all she's done in her live, who she cared for and how sue survived, they'll say :"SHE LOVED".
