Lora Lee (Upwall) Avella

Lora Lee Avella, 79, born February 4, 1921, passed peacefully on December 12, 2020. Born in Elko, NV to Oscar and Sylvia Upwall. Lora Lee and her mother moved to Ely and then to Las Vegas after her father's early death. She attended Las Vegas High School and graduated with her class in 1958. Shortly thereafter, she had three children. Lori (as her friends called her) enjoyed a variety of pursuits. She was a showgirl, a cocktail waitress and a bass player - playing once in an all girl band. Later, she sold real estate in Las Vegas. Upon remarrying, she moved to Southern New Jersey, where she again sold real estate and attended ACC College. Lastly, she traveled America with her husband as independent truckers. This enabled her to see all her family which meant the world to her. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Allan Avella, three children, Leslie Ryan, Kirk Ryan and Stacey Mangani, six grandchildren, one great grandchild and one on the way. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
