Ma'Kaii was born in Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, NV to Andrea Garner on June 21, 2023. Mom had a rough pregnancy from start to finish. She was unable to eat anything for most of her pregnancy and being sick all the time. She had to have gall bladder surgery while pregnant. The hospital was her second home. When Ma'Kaii was born we thought everything was only going to get better for Andrea and her bundle of joy. But after delivering Ma'Kaii, Andrea had to have emergency surgery as she was bleeding out. Thankfully both were OK and able to go home within a couple of days. Ma'Kaii was so mellow, laid back and full of joy.
Ma'Kaii was bubbly and all going. He was such a happy baby. He loves spaghetti, grapes, strawberries, watermelon, oranges, bananas and most importantly he loved his fruit snacks. Ma'Kaii loved all foods honestly, I promise there wasn't a food he didn't like. He loved riding his batman car and standing on his cocomelon car. He loved to watch Elmo & Wonder Pets. He loved to go to Lola's (grandma's) house to play and spend time with his cousins. Kai Kai loved to cuddle and give kisses. Sometimes I thought Kai Kai was a grown man in a little kids body with some of the things he would do. He would drink from a bottle and straw with no problem, like he has done this before.
When Ma'Kaii would wake up next to his mom, Andrea, it would always put a smile on his face. He loved to swim and be outside. His joy was plotting how he was going to run out the door as soon as Andrea opened it, no shoes, no clothes, just wanted to be outside. He would then look back to his mom, with a smile on his face, waiting for her to chase him. He enjoyed playing with his cousins. He would be intrigued by animals but still needed to be in his mom's arms to meet the animals.
Mom's first best day was the day Ma'Kaii was born. She was instantly in love and felt whole again. There are many best times with Ma'Kaii, but this is the first and the most important.
Andrea's favorite memory of Ma'Kaii would be when he is sitting in his high chair to eat and need to throw all his food on the floor and say "done"; then come to my plate to devour my food.
Another favorite memory is when Ma'Kaii would run away with his arms back and when Mom would catch him into something he had no business being in.
Ma'Kaii will be remembered as sweet, pure, loveable, kind-hearted, happy and a bundle of joy. Ma'Kaii would light up any room he came in and left his mark on everyone he came in counter with. Ma'Kaii was Andrea's best friend, my right hand and my other half.
