Maria Romo

November 15, 1942 — February 22, 2021

María de Jesús Romo, 78, from Las Vegas, NV passed on 22 February after succumbing to heart disease.

María was born in 1942 to José and Josefa in Zacatecas, Mexico.

In 1958 she met Rigoberto and a year later they took their vows before God. Born from the fruit of their love was a family of four daughters Nau, Rosa, Martha, and María, and four sons Francisco, Mario, Rigoberto, and Enrique.

The desire to see their children succeed and seek out new opportunities motivated the young family to start a new life in the United States.

Far from her own relatives and in a foreign place, María dedicated herself to what was essential to her, her family. She gave her all to raise, teach good manners, and instill values in her eight children. Her efforts can only be described as a complete success, with children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that brought her great pride.

Maria's love could be felt and seen in everything she did, but her passion, and what she was best known for, was food. Far from her roots, she never let forget the flavors and dishes of her native country. For her family it was the daily meal, but over time they realized that she was endowed with a culinary gift appreciated by all.

María's absence leaves her family and loved ones with deep and inconsolable grief.

María is predeceased by Nau and Francisco. She is survived by her husband Rigoberto, and her children Mario, Rosa, María, Martha, Rigoberto, and Enrique.

The family is very grateful to you for reading this tribute and request your prayers for the eternal rest of her soul.
