Marion Leora Davis Bigham, 87, of Las Vegas, Nevada went home to be with the lord on April 27, 2019. She was born June 27, 1931 to loving parents Seth Davis and Hattie Bell Lambright Davis in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She attended Alexander High School in Brookhaven, and attended Tugaloo College where she earned a BA majoring in English and minored in Home Economics. Marion also received her teaching credentials at Tugaloo. She taught elementary schools for 6 years and went on to substitute teach at various schools.
Marion loved sharing her talents of sewing and cooking. Her passion for sewing and tailoring was illustrated by the outfits she made for her children, including entertainment functions such as proms. She extended her love of sewing to teach others including her daughter. She modeled clothing at one point in Portugal. Later in life she tailored clothing of all types.
She was a woman of faith who attended church for many years at Nellis Air Force Base and other local congregations around Las Vegas. She later joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2002 while she was living in Utah with her son. She attended the church on Clayton and Washburn.
She is survived by Husband, Hershel Bigham, Children, Glenda (Patrick) Lee Bigham McGlashan, Eileen Faye (Davis) Banks, Andre Louis Bigham, Shawn Leander Bigham, Kirby Lynn Bigham and his wife Sue Moran, and Timothy Lane Bigham, Grandchildren Bryan Sherman Banks, Nick Moya, Tasha Marie McGlashan, Patrick, Maurice McGlashan, Darryl Edward Banks, Joshua Bigham, Ashley Bigham, Michael Malik McGlashan, Josh Bigham, T.J. Bigham and Ty Bigham. Great Grandson Elijah Jay McGlashan. Sisters, Hattie Bell (Davis) Barnes and Catherine Davis. Nieces and Nephews Elaine (Davis) King, Mark Davis, Dean and David Barnes, Melvin Smith, Pauline Fletcher, Ramona Faye Davis, Sandra Gail Davis, Tim Davis, Major Walker and Ruby Walker
She is Preceded in Death by her parents, siblings
Josie Lee (Davis) Lomax, Seth E. Davis, Sadora Ruby (Davis) Walker,
Edward Sherman Davis, Frances Jeanette Davis, Eulah Elaine (Davis) Cleveland, James Albert Davis, and Lawrence Burnell Davis.
There will be a funeral service held on Sunday May 5, 2019 at 2pm at Bunkers Mortuary 925 Las Vegas BLVD N, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Interment will take place Monday May 6, 2019 at 8am at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder City, NV 89005.
