Maureen was born in Newmarket, England near Cambridgeshire. She lived in Cambridgeshire while growing up. During World War II, she witnessed the death of her sister who was helping soldiers fill sandbags. She endured the scare of a bomb being dropped on a farm close to her home because the person left a light on at night. But through it all she continued to strive to be her own person. She got to travel to places around the world that many British people would never see.
She gave birth to six children. And is survived by five of them; Alvin Veale, Melvin Veale, Kalvin Veale, Tina Totten, and Michael Veale. Her daughter Debbie Collins passed away almost three years ago. She has seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
As a young woman, she met an air man (“yank”) and they got married. She was married to Robert L. Veale from May 1955 until he passed away in January 2016. Mom was the most caring person to her children. She would do anything she could to make sure we had everything we needed. Her passion was Christmas. It was a time for watching us open our presents. She didn’t get much of an education as a child who struggled to learn, but she got that education as we went to school. She loved to read. At the age of 90 years and 10 days, mom went to be with Jesus very peacefully with family around her.
