Michael Lee Gantt

April 15, 2023 Our Loving and Merciful God called home one of His own. Michael Lee Gantt is resting peacefully in the arms of his loving Savior.

Mike, as he was known to those who knew and loved him, was a loving and devoted Son, Uncle, Brother, and friend. He cared about everybody and would give someone the shirt off his back.  He gently personified his personalized license plate JUS2SHY.

Born December 16, 1966 in Phoenix, Arizona, Mike was a faithful and committed church member.  He loved his present and former Pastor and 1st Lady unconditionally.  He was readily available to do anything he could to enhance the ministry at New Hope Church and he served with excellence and love in spite of the circumstances.  He especially loved singing in the choir and couldn’t wait to return to worship in the church.

Mike began his battle with Parkinson’s in 2018, and he fought until he couldn’t.  He was a compassionate, loving person and passed peacefully in his sleep.

He worked as a Support Staff Trainer with CCSD and when he was forced to retire due to early onset Parkinson’s, he was greatly missed.

He graduated from UNLV, Class of 1992 where he played football and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Class of 1992.

He was preceded in death by his Father Jimmie Lee Gantt, and his brother Jimmie Ted Gantt. He is survived by his Mother Pearl Gantt, his nephews Jordan (Lynda) Gantt, Jason (Ana) Gantt and his niece Jeme Gantt as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Following the Service, Friends are welcome to join the Family.  Pastor will share a few words at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd North where Michael will be interred.

At Mother Pearl’s request, donations may be made to New Hope Church of God in Christ.
