Nina B Wolters

December 18, 1932 — February 19, 2025

Our mother, Nina Bogdanovich Wolters, passed away quietly at home on February 19, 2025 at the age of 92, after a brief illness.

Mom was the daughter of George and Rose Zohner Bogdanovich.  She was born December 18, 1932 in Los Angeles, California. She was a native of Nevada having grown up in blue diamond, Nevada.

She graduated from las Vegas high school in 1950. She also attended Dixie Jr. College in St. George, Utah. She was a secretary, bookkeeper and office manager for many years (when Gregg shorthand was used and not computers).

She loved to swim, water ski, zipline, ride in hot air balloons, but most of all she loved to dance. When she heard the music, she would always move to the sounds of whatever genre of music playing. She loved how the music touched her spirit and spoke to her soul.

She was an avid photographer which inspired many of her beautiful landscape paintings adorning her home.

Mom had an adventurous streak in her – she drove the Alcan highway to Alaska by herself, since she had driven it many times with her husband, Don, she had no doubt she could do it alone.

She and Don spent many years in Alaska, but her love of her desert home always persisted.

She loved to white water raft in Canada and Alaska. She always wanted to do that on the Colorado River, but never got the chance.

She had dreams to ride the orient express with her granddaughter Courtney as she loved trains, having many fond memories of her adventures riding them throughout Europe. The most recent ride was the train ride out in Boulder City for her 91st birthday.

She spent many years in Alaska with her husband, Don, when he worked on the Alaskan pipeline.  They had a summer home in Ocean Park, WA and later retired there.  They spent many years traveling in their RV.  When Don wanted to come back to the sunshine, they did so in 2002.

After his passing in 2006 she continued going to their beach home in the summer months by herself.  She loved the woods and the bears she would see.  She loved to travel, having been to Europe with her brother and sisters, traveled all over the us, a cruise to Alaska with family and had many more trips planned.

Nina is proceeded in death by her husband Don Wolters of 42 years, her daughter Cindi Jones Hannebaum, (her husband WM. “Bill” Hannebaum), her grandson, Ryan Jones and granddaughter Kimberly Lick-Cohen.

Her sisters Angie Delong (her husband Charles “Chase” Delong) and Sophie Romans (her husband Herbert “Herb” Romans) and her sister-in-law, Kae Jones Bogdanovich.

She is survived by her brother George Bogdanovich, daughter Connie Jordan and son Jon Randall “Randy” Jones and step-daughter, Dawn Lick.

She leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

Many nieces and nephews and dear lifelong friends.

Mom is grateful for the “great ride” she has had and feels blessed for all the family and friends who were a part of her life.  She hates to leave you all, but once said she knew “we will meet again”.

Rest mom; we will all be ok, but you will be missed every day!

Your loving family.
