Peter was born in Santa Barbara, Califonia. He cane to Las Vegas in 1957 on a temporary job assignment as a junior draftsman at the Nevada Test Site. at the end of the two weeks, he made the decision to move to Nevada and has been a resident since that time. He worked as a senior project engineer at the Nevada Test Site for Holmes and Narver, Raytheon and Bechtel for the majority of his career until his retirement in 1995. In 1958 he was maried to Helen Anna Balsat at Reformation Lutheran Church. Together tey raised four children; Rugh Benner, Benjamin B. Horner, Anna Horner and Mary Sluss. In Las Vegas, they enjoyed a close relationship with Helen's twin, Helen Balsas and her daughter, Emily Smith. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Helen A. Horner; his four children and their families; his brother William Hoener and his twin, Benjamin h. Horner and their wives; his many nieces and nephews and 10 grandchildren, Erika, Shane, Ian, Ivan, Samuel, Madelein, Abigail,Lynne Helen, Bronte and Bella. The family desires memorials to be given in memory of Peter to Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Aven. Las Vegas, NV 89104 or to the Nevada Test Site Historical Foundation, 755 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89119-7363. He loved and was loved by his family and will remain forever in our hearts.
