Phillip Jefferson Kleinpeter,69 of Las Vegas, passed away on Tuesday, January 16,2007. He was born on November 17,1938, in Lake Providence, La., and has been a resident of Las Vegas since 1956. Phillip worked in the hotel industry , drove a school bus and public transportation before becoming and ultimately retiring as a truck driver. He was also a member of the teamsters local 631.
Phillip enjoyed basketball and participated in several sporting activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eloise Shaw and George Shaw Sr., sister Audrey Shaw; and mother-in-law, Leneza Berry.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Flora Kleinpeter; ex-wife, Alice Walker; brother, George Shaw Jr.; sisters, Vivian Weatherspoon, Mabel Hudson-Daniels (John), Patricia Shaw, Louis Davis(Johnny), Geneva Robinson(Charles), and Lillie Mayham (Benny); four daughters, Leneza Berry, LaVista Berry, Audrey Kleinpeter and Kelijaw Shaw; four sons, Bobby Brass, Phillip Kleinpeter Jr., Phillander Kleinpeter and Cristen Shaw; three daughters-in-law, Paula Kleinpeter, Lisa Vallejo and Lanore Brass; nine grandchildren, Demarco Brass, Alicia Wilson, Bobby Brass Jr., Nikisha, Aaron, Alice, Alex, Delania and Marena Kleinpeter; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
