Lynn Griswold Maurice

Lynn Maurice, 84, of Las Vegas, died peacefully on July 27, 2024, from a short illness at Nathan Adelson Hospice.

She was born Raylyn Kathryn Griswold on December 19, 1939, in Antigo, WI, to the late Everett and Agnes (Sickinger) Griswold. Lynn grew up in Tigerton, WI, population 827. She was united in marriage to Arthur Eugene Maurice. Her husband, Gene, preceded her to Heaven on January 22, 2021. The couple lived their entire married lives in Las Vegas, NV, in the same house for over 60 years. During that same time, she was a member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church, where she went to mass daily. She was on the community council of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites (OCDS) and volunteered tirelessly at church.

She will be remembered for her faith, humility, and kindness. Her joy was Melody and Noah, her grandchildren, with whom she spent much of her free time. She also loved her Green Bay Packers and was a stockholder. She had many close friendships with her church community. After her husband passed, she was lifted, cared for, and loved by them. God uses good people to do great things. Lynn was a great woman and mother who used her life to serve. She is now resting and enjoying what she so lovingly hoped for, To dwell in the House of the Lord.

Survivors include Sons John Maurice, Salt Lake City, UT, Michael (Angel) Maurice, Las Vegas, NV, and daughter Michelle Maurice, Salt Lake City, UT. Grandchildren Melody, Noah Maurice. Sister Barbara Brady, Gresham, WI. Sister and brothers-in-law Eddie Rusk, Jim (Jerry) Rusk, Mary Markham, Tish (Ty) Turonne. A host of nieces and nephews.

Lynn’s final farewell and burial will be Monday, August 12 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way, Las Vegas, NV 89108, with Father Rogelio Molina officiating. Rosary at 9:30 am, mass at 10:00 am. 11:30 am burial at Bunkers Memory Gardens, 7251 W Lone Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, 89129.
