Richard LeRoy Budde was born in Anamosa Iowa. He was an accountant of North Las Vegas and resided in Las Vegas for 48 years. Dick attended high school in Anamosa and graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in Europe during World War II, where he was awarded a Purple Heart. Dick worked ad an auditor for the IRS for 20 years ( 11 years in Las Vegas) as an administrator at the El Cortez Hotel for 16 years and retired in 1984.
He loved animals and was an avid sports fan, and had a passion for playing golf, which he especially enjoyed when playing with his sons.
Dick was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher. He is survived by his wife, Tess of North Las Vegas; daughter, Jan of Pittsburg, MO; son, Michael of Las Vegas; daughter,Jill of North Las Vegas; son,Jack of North Las vegas;sister, Phyllis of Cedar Rapids,Iowa; grand-daughter Jenni of Peoria, AZ; grandson, Charles of Akron, Ohio; grandson Paul of Castle Hayne, N.C; Granddaughter, Carolena of North Las Vegas; and his beloved dog, Sandy.
Visitation will be from 1-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 11th,2005 at Bunkers Mortuary Chapel
925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Visitation will be followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m.
Graveside services will follow immediately at Eden Vale Cemetery,
1216 No. Las Vegas Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lied Animal Shelter in Las Vegas in his memory.
