Rita Cyril Almeida

Rita Almeida, 73, of Las Vegas, passed away on June 12, 2020. She was born on Aug. 4, 1946, in Vadodara, India. She and her family moved to the United States and lived in Las Vegas since 1981. Rita worked in the hospitality industry for over twenty years. She will be remembered as an accomplished cook, a hardworking employee, a reliable friend, a compassionate sibling and a loving mother. Rita was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cyril in 2014. She is survived by her daughter Victorina, sons Fraser & Alan, brothers Bruno, Casey, Maurice, Basil & Valentine, sisters Violet & Lucy, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

The funeral mass will be held at St Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W Sahara Ave at 10am on Monday, June 22, 2020 ; the viewing ceremony will be held at the Bunkers Mortuary on Las Vegas Blvd at 12:30pm, followed by burial in the Woodlawn Cemetery at 2pm .
The family insists that people make donations in support of breast cancer research, in lieu of sending flowers.
