Robert W. Green, born May 15, 1933, in The Bronx, New York; died, January 28, 2020, in Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his wife Marsha; his parents, Armand and Helen (Stark) Green; and his sister Irene Calca. He is survived by his son Michael and his wife Deborah, of Las Vegas; his nephews David Happ of Vancouver, Washington, and Donald (Angelina) Happ of Phoenix, Arizona; his sister-in-law Barbara Nochenson of Las Vegas and nephews Rick of Las Vegas and Garry of Altadena, California; grandnephew Daniel Happ and grandniece Christina Happ of Phoenix; and cousins Gloria Roth of Sherman Oaks, California, and Harry Schwartz (Jeri) of Roswell, Georgia. After serving in the Army, graduating from L.A. State, and careers at the Standard Register Company and IBM, he and his wife and son moved to Las Vegas, where he worked as a casino dealer from 1967 to 1997; he claimed there was a conspiracy to implode every place he had worked. He loved sports, especially the pain of rooting for the Dodgers and the Rams; opera, country, and Cajun music; movies of almost every imaginable kind; battling Sudoku puzzles; and reading fiction. He also would warn you to check the receipt when you shop so that you get exactly what you're paying for. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the History Department Scholarship Fund online at
