Rosa Lee Douglas

Rosa Lee Douglas, 76 of Elk Grove, California, passed away on February 9,2007. She was born on November 29,1930 in Newellton, LA. and was a resident of Las Vegas for three years.
Rosa attended schools in Newellton and Tallulah, LA and Las Vegas. April 1947, she was married to James W. Douglas. She continued her education in Sacramento, California and completed her nursing training at the Sacramento, County Hospital. After 17 years of marriage Rosa and James separated and were later divorced. A mother of seven children, she worked as a nurse in various hospitals in Northern and Southern California. She retired from Garden Grove Hospital in 1998 in Garden Grove, California.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lue Berta Clark Jackson; father, Dunbar Ellis; stepfather, Buster Jackson, daughter Sharon Douglas Stenberg; sister, Lillie Jackson Bolden; and brothers, Van, George, Robert and Earl Jackson.
She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Walker of Valley center, CA. Dennis Douglas of Mililani, Hawaii, James W. "Jimmy" Douglas , Jr. of Elk Grove, CA., Carlos Douglas of Los Angeles County, Anthony Douglas of Stanton, CA. and Mark Douglas of Anaheim, CA.; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bessie Gaitlan and Mary Louise Jackson of Las Vegas; one brother, James Jackson of Las Vegas and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
