Rossye O'Neal Carroll died on February 14,2006 at the Michael O'Callahan Federal Hospital due to complications following Surgery.
Rossye walked a Christian walk, prioritizing his life with love of God, love of family and love of service. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and as a member of the Cathedral Choir.
Rossye served 28 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. He served 22 years as administrative coordinator at Nellis Air Force Base Community College of Southern Nevada, retiring three years ago. He was a gentle man of kindness and distinction. "Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth." Matthew 5-5.
Rossye leaves to mourn his wife of 24 years, Bertha Carroll; sister, Shirley Carroll-Winn (Steven);brothers, Arthur L. Carroll, Elmer M. Carroll, Vern L. Carroll and Elzie B. Carroll(Emma); sons,Arnett Carroll, Marvin Carroll, Stephen carroll, Neal Carroll, Rossye Carroll Jr., and Edwin Carroll; daughters Brenda Jordan, Cynthia Randle, Sheila Horton(Larry), Vickey Carroll-Sanchez(Davis) and Karen Carroll.
15 Grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Gertrude Toston(Roosevelt) and Leo A. Johnson Jr.; inspirational and supportive cousins, Frederick Don Jackson, Alpatricia Jackson-Murray; nephew, Ronnie Carroll; and a host of other relatives, friends and colleagues.
