Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Sallie Ann Schaefer-Daly, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at the age of 81 in Layton, Utah. She was born in Butte, Montana on April 23, 1939 to Elza (Pete) E. Little and Janette Lora Barton Little. She currently resided in Layton, Utah near her family but spent a majority of her life living in Las Vegas, Nevada and was a graduate of Las Vegas High School, Class of 1957.
She married the love her life, James W. Schaefer Sr., on September 22, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived a full life with one another until his death in February 1980. James and Sallie had two beautiful children, Jill and James Jr., that they loved and cherished. Their life was full of adventures and they shared that with their children, and granddaughter, Melissa, who was their little peanut. Sallie later found love again and married, Thomas G. Daly, on April 12, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived a good life with one another enjoying their pride and joy, a Samoyed named Buster, until Thomas' passing in July 2005.
Sallie was a hard-working woman that worked for several banks over her career, including: First National Bank, First Interstate Bank, First Western Savings, Norwest Bank, and Wells Fargo. Sallie established a long banking career where worked in many different roles. She later retired from Wells Fargo to relocate to Layton, Utah to be closer to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Sallie loved to travel and see new places and visit family and friends. Sallie had a sense of adventure like no other and could be seen from the back of a Harley to a train ride through the Midwest. She was always ready to go.
