Shirley Chalker born April 18th, 1935 passed away due to complications from Alzheimer's disease on March 22, 2024. Shirley is processed in death by her mother Elizabeth, husband James and son Bradley. Shirley is survived by her daughter Pamela, and son Kevin . She delighted in her role as a grandmother to Paul, Tyler, and Bradley II., and cherished being the great-grandmother to Lauren and her sisters Dora, Velma, and Rosemary.
The proud descendant of Lebanese immigrants who immigrated to America at Ellis Island in 1920. She was a proud union worker who worked for Centel Telephone Co, as a Phones Systems Manager for 30 years. She was the living embodiment of the American dream and showed that hard work and love for her family could achieve anything. To her family, she was known for her near-infinite wisdom, her crackling, wonderful sense of humor, fierce wit, and brutal honesty. Her force of personality and indefatigable willpower was immediately apparent to all and her words had the ability move the souls of every man, woman, and child that were fortunate enough to hear them.
Her absence leaves an unfillable hole in the lives of many. The universe is forever darker without her light. We love you and we will miss you every day Grandma Shirey.
In lieu of flowers the homily asks to please make a donation in Shirley’s name to a Dementia/Alzheimer’s Charity.
