Shirley Vilate Southwick, 78, of Las Vegas, passed away, Jan. 16, 2004. She was born Oct. 17, 1925 in Murray, Utah and resided in Las Vegas since 1952. She was a telephone operator for Nevada Central Telephone Company. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority local Chapter Kappa Master. She was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband, Donald, enjoyed extensive travels and numerous family reunions at the family cabin in Cedar Breaks, Utah. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Donald F. Southwick; daughters, Sandra Curtis and husband, Rick of Las Vegas and Vickie Ericksen and husband, Jed of Salt Lake City; son, Art Southwick of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her brother, Ronald Dale and wife, Alice of Toole, Utah; and sister, Bonnie Griffith and husband, Larry of St. George, Utah.
