Spencer R Rogers

Spencer (Spence) Robert Rogers Sr. was born on 17 September 1937 in Bryn Mar, PA to Amos and Roxie Rogers. Sadly, he passed away at 4:30 AM on 14 December 2024 to join his wife Liz, whom he was married to for 58 years, who passed away on 21 July 2021.  Spencer was a loving and caring man who appeared to be a quiet individual, until you got to know him. He would often tell entertaining stories of his military career or his time growing up in New Jersey. He was a great father, friend and caring individual that had a love of sports and Westerns. You would often find him washing his car during the day and watching his beloved Dodgers or the UNLV Running Rebels in the evening. He loved watching the great black and white westerns every day on TV.

He and Liz were faithful members of various bowling leagues that showcased his bowling talent on Friday nights. This led to his weekly outings at the local casino to play Video Poker or 4 Card Keno. For many years, he was a loyal member of the weekly Protestant Sunday School at the chapel. He was a faithful member of the Nellis Chapel Family and attended services faithfully until COVID and the untimely loss of his wife restricted his attendance. Spencer is survived by his children, Charlotte Yeldell of Del Rio, Texas, Anthony (Wendy) Yeldell of San Antiono, TX, Spencer R. Rogers Jr. (Maria) of Pemberton, NJ, Brian Rogers of Las Vegas, and Monica (Ronald) Gladstone, of Las Vegas NV. He has 17 Grandchildren and 40 Great Grandchildren that will miss that smile.

Spencer is also survived by his six loving sisters, Joella, Joyce, Cathy, Wilda, Cynthia, and Cheryl. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Amos Rogers Jr., and his sister Peggy. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him and will miss him dearly. “We begin to remember not just that one died, but that one lived. And that one’s life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.”
