Walter J. Szumilo
June 16, 1926 — August 13, 2004
Walter was born in West Hazleton, PA. A resident for five years, he was a claims adjuster for an air freight company. He served with the U.S.Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. Prior to relocating in New York,he was commander of the Catholic War Veterans, Leo Samborowski Post 252 and junior vice commander Drakewear Post 589.
He is survived by 5 daughters, Veronica Dwyer of New Jersey and Victoria Volz, Stefanie Jackson, Rebecca Halbett and Natasha Szumilo all of Las Vegas: three sons, Adam Szumilo, Andrew Szumilo and Stephen Szumilo all of Las Vegas; one sister, Angela Carey, and one brother, Francis Szumilo both of Pennsylvania; and 17 grandchildren.
